Jeanny's mobile phone rings an end to the night.. The last night has leaved some marks on us. My ears are off duty. My voice has also made off and has forgotten coming again. The stage edge has leaved some marks too. But I have no blue spots, luckily. Jeanny has various blue places and her arm is swelled. OK, every battle demands victim. We cannot be disconcerted of it. The most important bodily functions appear bit by bit again. And thus we start the new day …
Now we take a shower and smoke the first cigarette. Very important ritual *g* And then to the breakfast. The breakfast room is totally overcrowded. But now I need a coffee, otherwise the engine does not start. After the breakfast everything is much better. We pack our bags and start the journey to Leipzig. The distance is relatively short; we are not in a rush. At noon we will arrive at the hotel and roll Rempi out of the bed. She has come by the night train to Leipzig and is totally groggy now. We make a short break on a rest place near Leipzig. We need more caffeine. And it goes further. At 1 p.m. we arrive at the hotel. I am very happy about this great thing, called navigation system. We roll on the parking place without any stress and enter our room short later. A big hello. Now the clan is complete. The conversation is very funny... We blether from now gibberish: a new denglish is born. Ha ha ha!
Rempi is a little bit tired, but we palaver with her cheerfully. We have many questions and a lot of joy. Around three o'clock we decide to search for a doner kebab stand. Rempi is very curious, because she does not know this "German" speciality yet. We go to the downtown and find a stand. With our food we withdraw on the room and munch diligently the gigantic Döner. Jeanny and I do not manage it. Too much is too much. The Döner is just too big... Rempi eats up her Döner up to the last bread crumb.
Then it is time for going. The Hellraiser waits. We do not want to be too late to protect our places in the first row. Indeed, today we are too early. Just three fans sit before the close gate. But now it is too late. The taxi is away and we hang here firmly. We hope to find any signs of civilisation here. So we saunter along the street. We land before an Italian restaurant. Of course, it has closed and offers no beer to us. Thus we walk back to the Hellraiser. Near the Hellraiser we discover a nice pub. The whole pub is equipped like an old train. Lots of old pics and old things hand on the walls. We squeeze ourselves into a "cabin". Oh, I'm wondering a lot. The theme in this cabin is the journey to Norway in the 1930's. I can't take my eyes from the pics at the wall. Now we are supplied by a super nice conductor promptly with drinks. Thus one can bridge the waiting excellently. Later we are going back to the Hellraiser. Meanwhile a bigger crowd of pagans has assembled there. We position ourselves near the gate and wait again. Then, finally, we are summoned to the other gate which is already open. Rempi dashes away with giant strides. We hardly get away afterwards. Ok, today we make jogging also. In the Hellraiser we split the group. Jeanny and Rempi look after our regular places, hehe, what has to be, has to be. And I am responsible for the drink supply. With three beers and a bag full of water I bump to the both. First Row! The evening can begin. The only sour note: Smoking is forbidden in the hall. Tonight this becomes a hard battle. There are some crazy people behind me and beside me. They mosh and jump so wild that i am not able to make any pics. Well, i put the camera back in my bag and dance too. Gernotshagen already prepare for the pagan battle. It is awesome. The guys are excellent. But we knew this before already ;) Askan gives everything and is celebrated by the audience enthusiastic. And of course there is also the song of Gernotshagen: "Dem Skirmir zu Ehren". This is my absolute favourite song. The fans are not to hold up. Huge!
Today Tyr is the opener. The sound quality is noticeably better. We hear the voices of the singer, it's a miracle ;) The songs sound much better with the lyrics in addition.
Then Eluveitie storm to the stage. Today they are something more energetically than yesterday. Inis Mona, the hit par excellence. But the first row has some handicaps. The show develops to a battle. The mosh pit cooks. Today the stage is a little lower. What an advantage, the next blue spots shift 10 cm down. And on this evening I get a lot of blue spots. Battle on!
After Eluveitie it is Moonsorrows turn. Also here big relief, no comparison to the sound in Berlin yesterday. We hear singing and the songs are just great!!!!
And then the next highlight of this evening approaches: Korpiklaani! Had we written yesterday that the guys were gigantic? Today we lose the superlatives very fast. Klaani make a Humppa firework. The hall raves. Luckily, the fresh air supply works better today.
Luckily the Security people are not as rough as yesterday in Berlin. And thus we have not to pay permanently attention to flying fans. Today the rush at the stage is stronger than in Berlin *ha ha*
Ensiferum stand in the start and we hold the position with our whole strength. The Intro sounds. Janne and Emmi enter the arena. Then Petri, Sami and Markus follow; again in their pretty kilts, hi hi. And then the pagan storm breaks upon the hall. Today we also have the pleasure of Petri's heavenly growl. Markus more often changes the position than otherwise. Good to us. We stand again quite far on the left. Normally he comes not so often to the left side of stage. It is indescribable. The guys deliver a hot show. Sorry, i don't remember which songs are played. This show is to die for. Lai Lai Hei, Battlesong, Treacherous Gods …
Today it is not so quiet, as yesterday in Berlin. The audience celebrates the band enthusiastically. The mosh pit bubbles in the front of Petri. A pandemonium!
And of course Sami makes his joke with Markus. It's hilariously funny how they deal with each other. Business as usual. Poor Markus...
First thing after the gig: the toilets. There is a long queue before it! That lets me turn pale a little bit. It becomes a battle after the battle. *ha ha* But we win once more. We enter the small room with the merchandising stand where a group of people stand and smoke. Because nearly everyone smokes in the room, we smoke also a cigarette. 6 hours without a cigarette... a hard trip.
Kalle from Korpiklaani speaks with some fans. He is on the way with an almost empty red wine bottle. Where the contents are, can be guessed easily. He is very good on it today.
Beside our table Jarkko stands in the conversation with another fan.
Now we need more beer or some wine, what ever... *he he* Thus we make a visit at the bar. With full bottles we return to our table and look at funny scenes. Meanwhile a great party mood rules here. Kalle and Terji from Tyr sing their catchy old song. Pom porom pom pom... Then some further carols follow... Is today already Christmas? The guys spread immense fun. Rempi is still in search of some autographs from various band members. Of course especially from Enska ;) Sami appears a short moment but he doesn't seem to be too well. In a great hurry he crosses the room and discusses something with the man in the bar. Then he has also disappeared again. We read later in the tour diary that he is still ill. Hats off to him, we didn't notice anything during the gig. Then the room empties. The tour manager orders the band members to the after show party. Apparently, we are not meant for that. We want to smoke one last cigarette. But suddenly it is not permitted to smoke in this room. OK, it is not quite understandably. But I express my cigarette in the heap of the other cigarettes which were smoked here. Ofmg, what nonsense.
We return to the bar. The smoking has just been passed us. Shit happens… There are not more many fans in the Hellraiser. We find a place at the bar... one more beer and a wine coke mix for Rempi. We look around. We can't believe that? Is that the big after show party? I know much better parties
We stand long with Jarkko of Klaani at the bar. He is really exceptionally nice. Jarkko chats with us and tells many interesting things.
The shooting in Budapest was for the Hungarian MTV. There were some rumours of a DVD in miscellaneous forums. That's not true. Very sad to us. Some guys of Gernotshagen are still here too. They are drunk and stagger a little. It seems to be a little difficulty to bring them out of the location. We can not resist to grin. We tell Jarkko that we have become acquainted by the Klaani forum. He is surprised. He also did not know the shaman pendants. Terji comes to us. Jarkko makes a joke with Terji’s Klaani shirt. He changes the motive a little
The girls of Eluveitie are completely despaired in search of the real party. There is still no music. At the end they help themselves, hum a ditty and dance ;)
For a short moment Markus from Ensiferum also appears. Rempi uses the chance to make a few photos ;) He is also very friendly and uncomplicated.
About half past 4 the party is over. The bands leave the location. We call a taxi and leave the Hellraiser too. All in all, we can say that Leipzig was much more dynamic than Berlin. Back at the hotel the clock already shows 5. But we talk and talk and evaluate. It is 6 o'clock as we finally fall asleep. About 9 o'clock the night will end. (All pics were made by Rempi. Thank you so much dear friend
